GREGORY DRY SR. began duties as associate minister of pastoral ministries at First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, March 20. He also serves as president of the Spartanburg Pastor’s Conference and is a member of the Bylaws Committee of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.

 

 

Jay Glasgow

JAY GLASGOW has been called as pastor of Redd’s Branch Baptist Church, Aiken. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and New Orleans Baptist Seminary, Glasgow previously served as associate pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Columbia. He and his wife Elizabeth have three children: Macie Lynn, Calie Grace, and Noah.

 

 

 

 

 

 

BRANTLEY BRYAN was ordained as a minister at Gilgal Baptist Church, Edgefield, in the congregation’s first ordination service in recent memory. Bryan has been called as pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Walterboro.

 

 

Brian Hipp

BRIAN HIPP has been named as a church-planting missionary pastor, serving in Ontario, Ohio. Hipp is a graduate of Charleston Southern University and attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary, majoring in North American church planting. He has served as youth minister in Charleston, North Charleston, St. George, and Anderson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roger Plemmons

ROGER PLEMMONS is the new pastor at Calvary First Baptist Church, Greenville. Previously, he was pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Union, since 2003. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Seminary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SOUTHEASTERN BAPTIST SEMINARY honored its most outstanding students May 17 as part of its chapel commissioning service. Two South Carolinians received awards. Jennifer Lauren Dowdy of Charleston was awarded the church music diploma. Charles Scott Cannon of Spartanburg received The John and G. Henton Davies Old Testament Prize, which is given to a graduating student who shows potential as a teacher of Hebrew and Old Testament.
