Flat Rock Baptist Church, Anderson, held Vacation Bible School May 29-June 2. Total enrollment was 79, with an average attendance of 61 and three professions of faith. Below, children sing the “Arctic Edge” theme song. Ed Hunsinger is pastor of Flat Rock, and Rita Phillips served as VBS director.

 

Deacon Bernard Gunter, First Baptist Church, North, presents to pastor Larry Shull and his wife a memory box commemorating their 12 years of service to the church. A reception was held in recognition of Shull’s retirement June 11.

 

Motlow Creek Baptist Church, North Spartan Association, has recently instituted the H.O.P.E. prayer ministry. With pastor Terry Rainey, left, is prayer director Roger Phillips.

 

First Baptist Church, Georgetown, held a mortgage-burning ceremony for its sanctuary June 4 during morning worship. Pictured are (l to r) Frank Blake, former trustee; Nolan Lundy, former building committee chairman; and Ted Sherrill, pastor. The current sanctuary was completed in 1997.

 

The Sunday school department of Broad River Baptist Church, Smyrna, erected a monument of the Ten Commandments. Dedication was held April 23.
