Pictured, from left, are Steve Grant, president of South Carolina Campers on Mission, and Martha nd Wintford Haynes of the adult volunteer mobilization unit of NAMB.During the national SBC Campers on Mission rally held at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds in Winston-Salem, N.C., preceding the SBC convention in Greensboro, the South Carolina chapter of Campers on Mission received two national honors – one as chapter of the year (under 200 membership) and the other for high attendance.
The chapter assisted in 92 projects for the year, ranging from disaster relief work such as rebuilding to block parties and witnessing. There were 50 professions of faith.
South Carolina Campers on Mission have carried out their them, “As You Go, Be on Mission for Jesus,” assisting disaster relief teams in rebuilding and constructing churches and communities from Pascagoula, Miss., to Key West and other Florida areas to renovation at Ridgecrest in North Carolina.
South Carolina projects have included helping with new construction at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Windsor, as well as projects at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, the seaport, racetrack, and fair ministries outreach.
