Claude C. White, 80, of Chesnee, a pastor for nearly 30 years, died June 25.
Claude C. WhiteWhite’s South Carolina pastorates included Casey Creek Baptist Church, Chesnee, and Corinth Baptist Church, Westminster. He also pastored churches in North Carolina and served as interim pastor for churches in both Carolinas.
He was a World War II veteran, having fought at the Battle of the Bulge and other campaigns in Central Europe.
White worked 20 years for Fisk Carter Construction Company.
He was the husband of Irene Holcombe White for almost 60 years. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son (Jerry C. White, pastor of Riverside Baptist Church, Greer, and past president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention) and three grandchildren.
