Charleston Southern University has expanded its popular bachelor of management arts degree program to include students in the Grand Strand area.
Charleston Southern and Horry-Georgetown Technical College officials have announced that students completing an associate’s degree at HGTC can go on to earn a bachelor’s degree through the BMA program, which will be offered at an HGTC site.
CSU president Jairy Hunter joined HGTC president Neyle Wilson at the Myrtle Beach campus for the announcement.
“We are delighted to be in this partnership with Horry-Georgetown Technical College, to provide educational opportunities for people who want to improve their vocation,” Hunter said.
The BMA degree can be completed in as little as 20 months, said Stan Parker, dean of Charleston Southern’s evening college and extended education programs, which administers the BMA program. “The BMA is an exciting new option for greater-Myrtle-Beach-area adults?who need a four-year college degree to reach their career goals.”
In most instances, classes will meet one?night a week. Some classes will be offered in an online format. Adjunct professors from the surrounding community will facilitate the courses.
The program will be offered starting this fall at the Grand Strand campus.
