David BagwellDAVID BAGWELL began duties July 23 as pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Westminster. He has served as student minister at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Clinton; Clearview Baptist Church, Travelers Rest; and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Greer. He was ordained and licensed to the ministry by First Baptist Church, Powdersville, under pastor Jack Hester. Bagwell is a graduate of North Greenville University and will graduate from New Orleans Baptist Seminary this December. He is married to the former Hali Henson of Travelers Rest.
UNION BAPTIST CHURCH, Marion, recently celebrated the baptism of 23 people. During Vacation Bible School, the children raised $450.91 for Marion Baptist Association’s disaster relief fund. The church recently sponsored a back-to-school youth rally for the association, with guest speaker Kenndall Danford of Francis Marion University.
PHILLIP POPE is serving as interim pastor of St. Johns Baptist Church, Ehrhardt. He attended Charleston Southern University and is a graduate of The College of Charleston. He has served pastorates in Georgetown and Columbia. Pope has three daughters: Ashley Lin, Brett Ellen and Gabrielle Augusta.
William Ashley MooreWILLIAM ASHLEY MOORE began duties Aug. 14 as minister of education at First Baptist Church, Simpsonville. He comes from Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky., where he served as minister of education and administration. Moore is a graduate of North Greenville University and Southern Baptist Seminary. From Lincolnton, Ga., he and his wife Carrie have two children, Ashley Caroline and Carter Adams.
First Baptist Church, Charleston, has called CHARLES EATON as minister of education and JOEL AINSWORTH as minister to students. Eaton most recently served as minister of education at Crestview Baptist Church, Clayton, Ohio. Ainsworth is a May graduate of Southeastern Baptist Seminary, where he was a youth worship and Bible study leader at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C.
