“Raise your songs of praise / In every tongue in every nation / Your kingdom come this generation” – so goes the song “This Generation.” A call to missions has been SONICFLOOd’s message since their debut in 1999.

A Grammy nomination and two Dove Awards later, the contemporary Christian band is embarking on their 16th tour, “This Generation,” which kicked off Aug. 27 at Charleston Southern University. The tour will take the band to 50-plus venues in 23 states.
People who may not recognize the band’s name may know more about SONICFLOOd’s music than they initially realize. Do the songs “Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord,” “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever” or “I Want to Know You” sound familiar?
Not only is the band playing their more familiar songs during the tour, SONICFLOOd also is performing selections from their most recent album, also titled “This Generation,” as well as songs that tie in with the theme of their tour: missions.
With the combination of music and missions, SONICFLOOd – partnering with the International Mission Board – is presenting a complete multimedia production aimed at leading concertgoers of all ages toward carrying out God’s Great Commission.
For youth in particular, the concerts include video testimonies of short-term “journeymen” and student missionaries, and opportunities for becoming involved in missions work are introduced.

The title of the tour, This Generation, reflects SONICFLOOd’s desire to reach out to the current generation because today’s young people are the future of international missions around the world.
Their Charleston concert was presented in partnership with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the IMB.
