NGU breaks enrollment mark for 13th year

Students make their way to chapel at the beginning of the school year. More than 660 new students enrolled at NGU for the fall semester.

For the 13th straight year, North Greenville University saw a record enrollment at the beginning of the school year. This fall, 1,882 students are enrolled in the undergraduate degree programs at NGU. More than 70 students are enrolled in the university’s two graduate programs. The undergraduate numbers represent a 3 percent increase over last year’s record.

“We thank the good Lord and our faculty and staff for this wonderful news of establishing another record enrollment for North Greenville University,” said president Jimmy Epting.

Campus life is also growing in diversity. Resident students increased 5 percent to 1,283. Forty international students, along with 36 children of missionaries, represent 35 countries.

New students also broke previous records. This fall, 667 new students enrolled in undergraduate programs.

The Honors Scholars Program welcomed 102 new members. Since 1996, the program has grown from 19 to 190 students. The university also welcomed 38 Palmetto Fellows scholarship recipients, the best academic high school students from across the state.
