Don Wilton, president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and pastor of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, recently talked about his passion for Christ with Charleston Southern University students.

Wilton revealed his adventure-novel past of growing up in Zulu country in South Africa, learning a difficult lesson by failing and repeating the 11th grade, serving in the military’s special forces as a tank commander in the Angolan civil war, earning six academic degrees, and undergoing transformation in Christ.
After reading from Acts 3, he spoke of three possible reactions to the message of God: silence, anger and salvation.
“The power of transformation in Jesus Christ is what changes your life forever,” he said, and encouraged students in prayer to turn their lives over to Jesus.
