Center Grove Baptist Church, Kershaw, set a Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal of $1,500, an increase over last year’s total. “But this year, God has truly amazed us as the people’s heart and treasure went out to the unreached of West Africa,” said pastor Steve Miller. “To date, we have received $3,358, nearly 225 percent of our goal.”

Mattie Brady, a member of Bayview Baptist Church, Columbia, recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Brady, who is a charter member, was the first organist/pianist since the founding of Bayview in 1939 at the home of her parents, and has served the church for 67 years. The congregation and friends honored her with gifts.

The Women on Mission group of Forest Hill Baptist Church, Anderson, has been busy for the last couple of months getting prayer blankets ready for the children at Calvary Home for Children in Anderson. This became a church-wide project with all of the adult Sunday school classes and organizations contributing monetarily and the ladies making the blankets. The blankets were distributed to the children at Christmas to help make their holidays brighter. Mary Jo Slice is director of the Women on Mission group.
