I want to thank you for your article regarding Rick Warren and the loss of his son (“The Need to Share … Can Be Ungodly,” April 25). Not only was your article well written, but it was convicting to me as well. I was reminded that day after day, and especially Sunday after Sunday, we have no idea what people around us are experiencing or struggling with.
In our family devotion this morning from Psalm 46, we were reminded that as believers we must make ourselves available to everyone around us. We may not prevent the kinds of things that happened with Rick Warren and his family, but our availability brings the love of Christ to all in need. God truly is “our refuge and strength and very present help in trouble.”
