McDuffie honored by SCEM during annual meeting Feb. 10

John Richard McDuffie of Aiken, founder and consultant of the South Carolina Equestrian Ministries, was posthumously awarded the “Mark of Distinction” by SCEM. McDuffie passed away Dec. 24, 2006.

The award was presented to McDuffie’s wife Lynette Feb. 10 at the South Carolina Horseman’s Council annual meeting and Expo at Circle M Ranch in Pelzer. The South Carolina Horseman’s Council also named McDuffie the 2007 South Carolina Horseman of the Year.

McDuffie served as a consultant for the South Carolina Baptist Convention in equestrian ministries and also assisted in planting Happy Trails Church in Pelzer.

A trail ride sponsored by SCEM is planned in McDuffie’s memory March 23-25 at the Lakeview Plantation in Fairfax.
