Charleston Southern student earns Golden Gate Leadership Award

James Riley, a youth ministry major at Charleston Southern, was awarded the Golden Gate Leadership Award March 13 by Golden Gate Baptist Seminary.

According to CSU religion professor Jesse Adkinson who presented the award, Golden Gate wanted to recognize a Southern Baptist student with quality academic performance, a high grade point average, and proven leadership both at school and in the community.

Riley plans to go into ministry after graduation, currently maintains a 3.27 GPA, and is a part-time youth pastor at Pierpont Baptist Church, Charleston.
