Methods change

The Baptist Courier

I would like to respond to Harland Alban in the March 22 issue, “Please God, Not Man.”

Luke 14:23 tells us to go to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in. The issue is not traditional vs. contemporary. The issue is: How many people are you reaching for Jesus? There are some people who will not come to a contemporary church, and there are some people who will not come to a traditional church.

The method changes, but the message stays the same: Christ, and him crucified for our sins.

God is using some different methods (contemporary services) to save different people and change lives. Both kinds of worship services are necessary, and we are not in competition. The only services that I don’t like are the ones that preach everything but the gospel. If a church is a birth place for new Christians, God is using it.
