Anthony Pope

ANTHONY POPE began duties March 11 as student minister of Hyde Park Baptist Church, Lancaster. For the past 26 months, he has been junior and senior high youth pastor at First Baptist Church, Marshville, N.C. He has also served as ministry associate for youth and children at First Baptist Church, Jefferson, and was briefly interim pastor at New Haven Baptist Church, Jefferson. Pope, a native of Lancaster County, is a graduate of USC-Lancaster and will graduate from Wingate University in May with a bachelor of arts degree in religious studies. He and his wife, the former Crystal Adams, have a 14-month-old daughter, Alexis Bree.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephen Berry

STEPHEN BERRY was ordained to the ministry March 4 by New Life Baptist Church, Union, where he is associate pastor. For the last 10 years, he has worked as a CNC operator at INA Bearing in Spartanburg. In September 2006, he was licensed to preach by New Life. In February, he began a four-year curriculum at Liberty University. For the last three years, he has been a speaker to young people at the Department of Juvenile Justice. He and his wife Sandy have four daughters: Jadea, Courtney, Logan and Peighton.

 

 

 

 

 

TODD GANDY began duties March 4 as pastor of Midway Baptist Church, Kershaw. A graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, he previously served as pastor of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Heath Springs. Gandy and his wife Melissa have four children: Heath, 8; Matthew, 6; Olivia, 3; and James Thomas, 1.
