“If you are called to the marketplace, that is a valid mission field,” said Dave Rae, president of Crown Financial Ministries. Rae, who spoke to Charleston Southern students, faculty and staff March 21, has more than 20 years business experience including Apple Canada, Inc., Business and Professional Ministries, and Crown Financial Ministries.
Dave RaeHe reminded attendees that, when they are in the marketplace, they are Christ’s ambassadors and “have opportunities the pastor doesn’t have.” He stated that most people who know Christ are in our churches, while the 78 percent of Americans who do not attend church are in the marketplace.
Citing Galatians 2:20, Rae reassured Christians that Christ lives in us and goes everywhere we go. “No matter what your job is,” Rae said, “You can walk into every setting with a confidence that Christ lives in you. If that’s all you walk away with today, you get something most Christian adults don’t get.”
