Description
Red White & Bluegrass consists of two sisters and a brother (Gwen on guitar, Barbara on bass, and Red Jr. on mandolin), nephew Chris on dobro and Randy Smith from Monroe, N.C., on banjo. They have spent most of their lives in gospel music, singing at churches, festivals, pig pickin’s, stump speakings, schools, benefits, conventions, concerts or wherever they have been invited. For 16 years, their father, Red, who died in 2001, hosted his own gospel music program every Sunday morning on WECT-TV in Wilmington, N.C. The group specializes in close three-part harmony with a tight blend that can only be achieved by siblings singing together. Each member of the group is actively involved in their churches, including Juniper Bay Baptist Church in Conway, when they are not on the road singing.
