‘Uncensored’ students serve community

Uncensored 2013

A group of 85 students representing eight churches in three counties came together April 12-13 to work at a soup kitchen in a hotel parking lot, do yard work, and assist at a center for victims of domestic abuse.

Russell Whitfield, youth consultant for Savannah River Baptist Association and student minister at Shell Point Baptist Church, said it was “a joy” to see the students come together in service to others. The weekend was called “Uncensored,” based on the idea of not letting the world censor one’s faith.

Worship and study were also part of the Uncensored weekend, with individual break-out sessions on prayer with a purpose, servant leadership, goals and direction for life, and worship as a lifestyle.
