On behalf of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Virginia Tech, I would like to thank you for the prayers and encouragement that you enabled BaptistCourier.com readers to share with folks here. Our ministry lost a close friend in Brian Bluhm, and our students have walked through some very dark days, but the encouragement from folks like you gave us a constant reminder of the truth of Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
The condolence page is greatly appreciated – I have looked through it multiple times, and I have made others here aware of it as well. Our students have been so resilient and have expressed their faith in amazing ways, but we know there will be many more needs in dealing with the grief over the long haul. Thanks for allowing us to use encouragement from you and your readers to be part of meeting those needs.
Many have asked how they can pray as we near a month from the tragedy.? Please continue to pray for comfort and healing for the family and friends of the victims. Pray for wisdom for the administration of Virginia Tech as they make decisions about summer orientation and fall start-up.?Pray for our BCM ministry as we try to find the right balance this fall of outreach to new students and grief care for all students.
As we step forward into the hope and healing that only Jesus can provide, thanks again for partnering with us.?May God’s hope and healing continue to be felt where you are walking as well.
