Berlin Baptist Church in Edisto Association celebrated Senior Citizen Day on May 5. Berlin’s seniors started the day with a breakfast fellowship and were the focus of all parts of the service, including the children’s sermon.
Sallie Yon, pictured with pastor Tommy Huddleston, was named Senior Citizen of the Year for her Christian example and commitment to the church. “Sallie is never late and never misses a service,” said church spokesperson Dee Taylor. “She welcomes all warmly and even passes out gum after services.”
