Point of Grace will be performing at Charleston Southern University Sunday, Aug. 26.
Point of GraceIn their new album, “How You Live,” Point of Grace members Shelley Breen, Leigh Cappillino, Denise Jones and Heather Payne perform a compilation of songs they say invite listeners to examine their priorities and take stock of their lives.
“This record is a constant reminder for us to celebrate life; to celebrate it in the good and celebrate it in the bad,” said Cappillino.
Leigh Darby Cappillino is a 1991 graduate of CSU. She majored in religion, minored in music and sang with New Vision, the university’s contemporary Christian vocal ensemble. She has been part of Point of Grace since 2004. “Heal the Wound” is among her favorite songs on the new album because it reminds her of God’s faithfulness.
Point of Grace has sold more than 5 million albums, earning eight Dove Awards and two Grammy nominations. The group has been awarded two Platinum and five Gold albums and has scored 24 number one singles on Christian radio. The members also conduct Girls of Grace conferences, where young ladies talk about tough, real-life issues and are encouraged to live in the will of God. Through this mission field, the group has educated and encouraged more than 100,000 young women in the past five years.
The upcoming concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Lightsey Chapel Auditorium. Tickets are available through LifeWay in North Charleston or online at www.csutickets.com. For group sales, call Tam at 843-863-7192.
