Members of Green Sea Baptist Church are celebrating their 200th anniversary. Green Sea has consistently and continuously held services since 1807. To celebrate this significant milestone, special services and events have been scheduled throughout the year.

The culmination of the yearlong recognition is a “Harvest Week” Revival, Oct. 28-Nov. 4, featuring speakers from among the South Carolina Baptist Convention leadership and national leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention. Speakers include: Jerry Rankin, president of the International Mission Board; Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention; Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Seminary; Mike Moody, president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention; Richard Land, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission; Jimmy Epting, president of North Greenville University; Jairy Hunter, president of Charleston Southern University; Carlisle Driggers, retired executive director-treasurer of the SCBC; Jim Austin, executive director-treasurer of the SCBC; and Rick Astle, DOM of Waccamaw Baptist Association.
Mitch Ash from Rineyville, Ky., will be the musical evangelist for the week. Services begin at 7 p.m.
The afternoon celebration service, Nov. 4, begins at 1:30 p.m. with a concert by the Anderson University ensemble. Guest speakers, including Rick Astle and Jim Austin, will share congratulations and challenges for the future.
