In the Oct. 4 issue of The Baptist Courier’s Fast Facts, “Judge continues suit against seminary,” the author quotes The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as stating the role of senior pastor in local churches is limited to men.
“Senior pastor” is not mentioned in The Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
(Editor’s Note: The writer is referring to a Fast Facts article concerning a lawsuit against Southwestern Seminary and its president. He is correct in saying The Baptist Faith and Message statement does not say “senior pastor,” only “pastor.”)
