The Baptist Courier has learned that a new statement is expected from Don Wilton, who endorsed Mitt Romney for president in a press release issued by the Romney campaign on Friday.
The story was reported on CNN and in the Greenville News over the weekend. The Baptist Courier’s online site, BaptistCourier.com, ran the story on Monday, in which Wilton said he was “proud to stand alongside Governor Romney as he pursues our nation’s highest office.”
Wilton is pastor of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, and former president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
