In Piedmont: Mountain Springs dedicates land

The Baptist Courier

Oct. 14 was a significant day for the future of Mountain Springs Baptist Church, Piedmont. Following the homecoming service, the congregation gathered on the new church property across the road from the church.

Pastor Tracy Ivester pointed out the exact location where a new worship center and educational building soon will be constructed. Members joined hands in a prayer circle to dedicate the land and express thanks to God for leading the church to this point.

After a year of research, meeting with architects and county officials, and visits to other facilities, the Mountain Springs congregation voted in February 2003 to begin searching for land.

In March of 2004, the church purchased eight acres of land on Mountain Springs Road, across from the existing church, fulfilling the hopes of its members. In November of 2004, the church purchased seven additional acres. Mountain Springs is now preparing to enter a building program.
