STEVEN RAGAN began duties Oct. 14 as minister of music at Second Baptist Church, Laurens. He has served as interim choir director and minister to students at Putman Baptist Church, Buffalo, and is admissions counselor at Erskine College, where he is working on a master’s degree in Bible and religion studies.
Brian BoldingBRIAN BOLDING was ordained to the ministry Sept. 30 by Long Branch Baptist Church, Saluda Baptist Association, where he has served since June as minister to students and families. He came to Long Branch from First Baptist Church, McCormick. He is a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Ky., and attended Southern Baptist Seminary. Bolding and his wife Jamey have a son, Daniel, 6 months.
ELIM BAPTIST CHURCH, EFFINGHAM, held a GA recognition service Oct. 17. Thirteen GAs participated. Special recognition was given to Betty Ham, who is retiring after teaching GAs for 29 years.
Bill Pate Jr.BILL PATE JR., pastor of Tucapau Baptist Church, Startex, was honored Sept. 30 for 25 years of service. Chairman of deacons Paul Smith presented Pate a check for $2,500 – $100 per year – on behalf of the congregation.
PAUL FULTON has been called as pastor of student ministries by Welcome Baptist Church, Greenville. A graduate of Coastal Carolina, he is a student of Southeastern Seminary where he will graduate in 2008.

Kirk TateKIRK TATE was ordained to the ministry Oct. 28 by Southport Baptist Church, Southport, N.C. He has served as minister of youth and family life at Southport since October of 2006 He is a graduate of Anderson University and attends Southeastern Baptist Seminary. Tate has served as youth minister at Waycross Baptist, Pelzer; Central Baptist, Central; and Summit Heights Baptist, Easley. After his freshman year at Anderson, he spent the summer on the staff of Youth Works in Charleston, W.Va. Tate grew up in First Baptist and Temple Baptist churches in Simpsonville.
