A trip back to Bethlehem

The Baptist Courier

Take a trip back in time to 1st century Bethlehem to the night Jesus was born.

The Bethlehem Walk, which is being presented Dec. 14-16 at 6-9:30 p.m. by Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Road, Inman, is an outdoor scripted drama involving a cast of more than 140 costumed actors. The guided tour of Bethlehem takes about 25-30 minutes.

Tour groups of 10-12 are led by a guide through the busy streets of Bethlehem in search of the newborn Messiah. The tour, which includes period shops and live animals, leads visitors to the stable to see Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.

Once visitors leave Bethlehem, there are scenes depicting the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. At the last stop, visitors meet the follower of Jesus – portrayed by Holston Creek pastor Reggie Parker – at the Table of Life.
