
In recognition of Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, Tuesday night’s session of the South Carolina Baptist Convention included a salute to the armed forces featuring Baptist association members with military background, who served as color guards. A combined drum line of students from Blythewood and Ridgefield high schools, both in Columbia, performed during the presentation of flags representing the branches of service.
Convention president Mike Moody’s address spotlighted stories of ministries around the state, with testimonies from D.J. Horton of Moore, Jeffrey Allen of Florence, Tim Snyder of Travelers Rest, and Ryan Pack of Sumter.
Worship was led by Sam Dickerson, minister of music at First Baptist Church, Honea Path, and the combined choirs of Honea Path First and Calvary Baptist Church, Williamston. Moody has been pastor of the Honea Path congregation since 1999.
