For the month of January, the Pine Grove Baptist Church Awana youth ministry conducted a food drive as a monthly mission project. Calling January the “Can-Do Anything” month, based on Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” — the group set a goal of 1,000 items. Pastor Eric Boone announced the mission project each Sunday, and parents and church members donated canned and non-perishable food items each week. Awana club members and the Pine Grove congregation not only met, but exceeded, their goal by bringing in more than 1,700 food items, which were donated to Christian Community Ministries in Camden. This is the 10th year of the Awana children and youth ministry at Pine Grove.
