For the first time, Anderson County residents can earn a master of business administration degree without leaving the area, as Anderson University expands its graduate school to include the MBA.

The Anderson University MBA will differ from other area programs in that, in addition to providing key business concepts, models, cutting-edge simulations and other instructional components, it will contain a special emphasis on ethics in the business world.

“The Anderson University MBA will be unique in that it will provide an integration of discipline-specific concepts and models, with ethical perspectives and practical applications,” said Danny Rhodes, associate dean, College of Business, and MBA director. “Our qualified faculty will be more than just teachers. They will serve as mentors and academic coaches to help prepare students for advanced managerial challenges in a global marketplace.” ?

The new MBA program is already enrolling, since student demand, according to surveys conducted by Anderson, is high.

The program, which begins classes Aug. 11, features the “cohort” model, in which 20 students begin the curriculum together and complete the entire 12-course, 36-hour program together. Students can earn their MBA from Anderson University in less than 20 months.
