A search committee has been appointed from the Executive Board planning and ministries committee to work with Jim Austin, executive director-treasurer, in seeking a new church development team director for the staff of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
The search committee is comprised of Roger Estridge, First Baptist, Iva; Matt Gentry, The Saluda Baptist Church, Saluda; Ray Mims, Bellview Baptist Church, Woodruff, chairman; Tom Rogers, First Baptist, Belvedere; David Anderson, Maple Cane Baptist Church, Cottageville, ex officio; and Tom Swilley, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Conway, ex officio.
The director of the church development team will give leadership in the design and development of a well-balanced church development plan leading to spiritual growth for the local church. The director will also develop resources which incorporate the principles of Empowering Kingdom Growth.
