Evangelist Frank Shivers of Columbia has channeled his passion for revival in the local church, backed by his more than 35 years of experience in the field, into a new book entitled “Revivals 101: A Concise Manual on the How-To of Revival.”

Marshall Fagg, evangelism director for the South Carolina Baptist Convention, praised the book as “excellent,” and added, “I found myself wishing I had possessed this resource during my 20 years as a pastor.”
The 82-page book is dedicated to fellow evangelist Junior Hill and has drawn praise from Thomas Hammond, senior director of the church evangelism group of the North American Mission Board, and Steve Foster, who leads evangelism ministries for the Georgia Baptist Convention.
Shivers, whose evangelistic association also owns and operates Longridge Camp and Retreat Center in Ridgeway, said he is “prone to agree” with those who say that revival is 70 percent preparation, while emphasizing “there is no sure-fire plan that guarantees revival.”
“But my experience,” he said, “teaches that when the plans stated in this book are prayerfully and earnestly implemented, God often blesses with the rain of revival.”
Shivers, a graduate of Charleston Southern University and New Orleans Seminary, is the author of nine previous books, including “Soulwinning 101,” “The Evangelistic Invitation 101,” and “Clear Talk to Students.”
His new book is available for $9.95, which includes shipping and handling, and may be ordered online at www.frankshivers.com or by calling (803) 773-9446.
