South Carolina volunteers Dannetta Hill and Gwen Walker laugh with a group of girls living in a “hostel,” or boarding home, in Bangladesh. The national Baptist convention in Bangladesh manages several hostels throughout the country where schoolchildren can live in a secure environment close to city schools. Five of the hostels house mostly tribal children. At this hostel, the volunteers gave each girl a small hygiene package. The two volunteers worship at churches in South Carolina’s Broad River Baptist Association, which partners with the International Mission Board’s tribal team in Bangladesh.
