The scholarship committee of First Baptist Church, Great Falls, awarded education scholarships during worship service June 22 to six young adults: Chasity Baker, Joshua Hefner, Kyle Hefner, Tori Lane, Dakota McMurray and Jade Towery.
The scholarships are made possible from the combined totals of two educational school funds established by the families of former members of the church to further education after high school graduation.
The John and Lula Howard Scholarship Fund was established in 1977 by Edith Gunter in memory of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Howard.
The family of Charlie Martin established the Charlie Martin Educational Fund in 1985 through the Baptist Foundation in his memory.
Gregg Batchelor is the current pastor of First Baptist Church, Great Falls.
