Berlin George Myers, 98, of Summerville, a cofounder of the Baptist College of Charleston in the early 1960s (today, Charleston Southern University), died July 8, 2015.
He was the retired mayor of Summerville, a lumberman and a Normandy Invasion veteran of World War II. He was a member of Summerville Baptist Church.
“We will always remember Berlin Myers as a cofounder of the university and a recipient of the university’s Distinguished Service Award,” said Jairy C. Hunter Jr., CSU president.
