The Baptist Courier

The South Carolina Baptist Pastor’s Conference is scheduled for Nov. 10 at Trinity Baptist Church, Cayce.

The conference begins at 9:40 a.m. with pre-session music and singing. Our theme is “Follow the Old Paths.” I’m convinced we need to make a turn back to preaching the old-time gospel. The old paths are the paths in which the saints of old have trodden from the beginning.

We have a great group of men preaching the gospel this year: Harold Hunter, president, Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Ind.; Eddie Burris, pastor, West Side Baptist Church, Spartanburg; Ronnie Owens, evangelist, Harrogate, Tenn.; Mike Whitson, pastor, First Baptist Church, Indian Trail, N.C.; Glenn Sheppard, International Prayer Ministries, Conyers, Ga.; Scott Eadie, evangelist, Ridgeville; Dr. Richard McLawhorn, president, South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging; and Phil Chaney, minister of music, First Baptist Church, Indian Trail, N.C.

We have the Harvest Quartet, First Baptist Church choir and orchestra coming to lead us in praise and worship.

A special offering will be taken during the Monday afternoon session for the South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging. This offering will help pastors, missionaries and their spouses stay at one of the two retirement centers in our state when they retire.

Invite your friends and church members to come share in this day of praise and worship.
