AU president Evans Whitaker greets students and parents during freshman move-in day, which took place on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Freshmen and transfers, coupled with a higher number of returning students, will push Anderson University enrollment to its highest level ever, according to university officials.

The freshman class, which numbers approximately 420 (the second highest number ever), moved into residence halls two weeks ago, and enjoyed Welcome Week at Anderson University.

Some 76 students have transferred to Anderson from other colleges and universities. Though final numbers won’t be available for several weeks, it is clear that enrollment will easily exceed the 1,900 mark and become a new record, capping four straight years of consistent growth.

Editor’s note: The official enrollment count for fall term was 2,038, according to the university’s communication’s office.
