Voddie Baucham, renowned writer, speaker and strong advocate of Christian worldview, recently challenged students and faculty at Charleston Southern University to not only integrate their faith in society but also in the classroom.

During his visit to Charleston Southern, Baucham dialogued with faculty and staff about the importance of integrating faith in learning. Baucham spoke from 1 Peter 3:13-16 on the three aspects faith and learning: know what you believe, know why you believe, and know how to communicate your faith to others. He challenged faculty to develop articulate people who can speak, write, and be persuasive on character issues in order to not just win arguments, but to win hearts and minds.
“Dr. Voddie Baucham is a serious-minded Christian intellectual who was able to engage the hearts and minds of faculty and students alike,” said Rick Brewer, vice president for planning and student life. “Voddie continues to demonstrate this God-given ability to effectively communicate biblical truth on multiple levels and in different settings.”
Baucham currently serves as the pastor of Preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Tex. He serves as an adjunct professor at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Tex., and Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He has also lectured at Southern Seminary.
