Senior citizens attend retreat at Springmaid

The Baptist Courier

A recent retreat for senior citizens, held annually at Springmaid Beach, attracted 455 people representing 29 churches – nine of them from the Palmetto Baptist Association. Clyde Porter, a member of Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer and coordinator for the event, called it “the finest retreat I have attended in the last 10 years,” noting great preaching, singing and comedy. Churches participating in the retreat ranged from Augusta Heights and Augusta Road in Greenville to Welcome in Laurens and West Pelzer Baptist.
