Spartanburg County Baptist Network held its annual fall meeting Oct. 28, concluding a year-long 25th anniversary celebration.
The meeting was held at Southside Baptist Church, where the merger of two earlier associations and reorganization as Spartanburg County Baptist Network was initiated.
Tim Williams, pastor of Roebuck Baptist Church, gave the annual sermon, challenging the group to “anticipate the journey before us.”
The network announced a signature ministry focus on college students and internationals and other ministries, encouraging its churches to participate.
The event concluded with a DVD visual of pictures of the Spartanburg area played to the music of “God of this City.”
Network director Jim Goodroe, right, presents the Lifetime Achievement Award to Kenneth Ridings, president of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute.
Rufus Chaneyworth, left, pastor of Oak Grove Baptist, and Gerald Burnett, pastor of Eastside Baptist, receive Network Service Awards for 25-plus years. Both will be retiring at the end of the year.
