James Stevens

JAMES STEVENS is the new pastor of Latta Baptist Church, Pee Dee Baptist Association. Previously, he was pastor of Welcome Baptist Church, Laurens. Other pastorates include Pineview Baptist Church, Kershaw, and Mitford Baptist Church, Great Falls, where he was ordained to the ministry in 1999. Stevens was evangelism director for Moriah Baptist Association and served as chaplain at the Laurens County Speedway. He is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Wingate University, and North Greenville University, and is currently enrolled for online studies at Liberty University. Stevens published “The Seven Dwelling Places of God in the Bible.” Stevens’ hometown is Lancaster. He and his wife Misty have four children: Brittany, John, Cailin and Gatlin.

 

 

 

 

 

The women of WHITEFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH, BELTON, held an appreciation salad supper Oct. 21, for the pastors’ wives. Each pastor’s wife was given a handmade totebag filled with baked goods and other gift items. Leann Sargent, wife of Jeremy Sargent, minister to students, and Ann Fuller, wife of Frank Fuller, senior associate pastor, shared their testimonies.

 

Steve Gillette

STEVE GILLETTE was recently installed as pastor of Memorial Baptist Church, Aiken. A native of Los Angeles, he served in the Air Force as a fighter pilot from 1969 until 1993. He and his wife Cari then served as missionaries in Ethiopia from 1994 to 1996, when he entered the seminary in Goldsboro, N.C. He was ordained to the ministry in 1999 and has served churches in Goldsboro and Kingston, N.C. The Gillettes have two adult children and four grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

JAMES ERVIN DYAR has been called as pastor by Earle’s Grove Baptist Church, Westminster. He began his ministry Oct. 1. Dyar is a graduate of Anderson Junior College (Anderson University), Southern Wesleyan University, and Erskine Seminary. He previously served as pastor of Red Hill Baptist Church, Pickens; Antioch Baptist Church, Lancaster; Friendship Baptist Church, Honea Path; and as mission pastor of Chiquola Baptist Church, Honea Path. Dyar and his wife, Teresa, have three children: Hannah, Jared and Bethany.

 

McKENSEY CAMPBELL was ordained to the ministry Sept. 28 by Earle’s Grove Baptist Church, Westminster, where he is minister of youth and children. He is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. He and his wife, Sandra, are expecting their first child in February.

 

Jared Knight

JARED KNIGHT will began duties Nov. 16 as worship leader at Northgate Baptist Church, Greenville. He comes to Northgate after serving as interim music minister at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church, Union. Knight is a graduate of Baptist College of Florida. He is engaged to Christie Gossett of Union; their wedding date is Dec. 13.
