Rembert “Buddy” Scarborough Truluck Jr., 74, of Greenville, died Nov. 14, 2008.
Truluck graduated in 1954 from Clinton High School. He went on to attend Furman University and later Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky., from where he graduated with a doctorate of theology in 1968. He went on to pastor several Baptist churches in Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi.
In 1973, Truluck was called to the Baptist College of Charleston (now Charleston Southern University) to be a professor at the new college.
He later served as pastor of churches in Atlanta, Nashville, and San Francisco. In recent years, he settled in Greenville to be near his family.
Survivors include three children and two grandchildren.
