The hand God uses

The Baptist Courier

What happened to having a revival to see God move and not just scheduling one for the sake of having one? I believe we are living in a time when America is in desperate need of a true revival. I see so many churches that don’t see the need for revival anymore.

I believe God gave us the true meaning of revival in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This is when true revival will happen inside our walls first, and then it will take place outside of our churches.

God has given us the resources to do this – the five-fold ministry, Ephesians 4:11-12: “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Let’s not forget the work of the evangelists.

We recently had a revival, I mean a true movement of God’s Holy Spirit, at First Baptist, Eutawville. We saw 39 salvations, more than 50 rededications, and had 20 baptisms. We brought in evangelist Scott Eadie for revival and truly saw God move through his preaching. We had people saved who then went home and led their families to the Lord. I believe the five-fold ministry is the hand that God uses for ministry through the body of Christ. Every finger on the hand that God uses is important for kingdom growth.
