Hillcrest Baptist Church in Dalzell burned down completely Feb. 17, 2008, and has been rebuilding ever since. The church is nearing the end of the building process and has been given an unexpected bill of $67,000.
Unfortunately, all of the insurance money has been spent on the building. Since the congregation is small and had paid off the mortgage a few years earlier, they can’t borrow any more money to finish the building.
We are pleading with South Carolina Baptists to help us with volunteer electricians, plumbers, or people to do millwork. If you can’t volunteer, but would like to make a donation, please send it to Hillcrest Baptist Church, P.O. Box 303, Dalzell, 29040.
Our church is located directly behind Shaw Air Force Base at 5330 Old Camden Road or Old Highway 521 going toward Camden. We’re a multiracial congregation and offer tutoring at the two schools on “The Hill” with us. We also have a multihousing ministry and a jail ministry. Please help us to keep these ministries going. Thanks.
