Mark DeVaneyMARK DeVANEY was called March 1 as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Bluffton. DeVaney, who was serving as minister to children and adults at the church, succeeds Dennis Wilkins, who retired July 31, 2008. DeVaney is a graduate of Bryan College, Dayton, Tenn., and completed advanced studies at Southwestern and Southeastern Baptist seminaries and Liberty University. He previously held church ministry positions in Hilton Head and at churches in North Carolina and Chattanooga, Tenn. He and his wife Keri have three young children: Addie, Cole and Rylan.
Drew HensleyDREW HENSLEY is the new student pastor at River Hills Baptist Church, Moore. He began duties April 14. A native of Missouri and a graduate of Cedarville University in Ohio, he has served churches in Ohio, Missouri and Georgia. Hensley will oversee a growing youth ministry, reaching students in District Five and District Six of Spartanburg County. His wife Laura, also a graduate of Cedarville University, is an elementary school teacher.
Chip FullerCHIP FULLER began duties March 1 as minister of education at Old Fort Baptist Church, Summerville. He previously served at Northside Baptist Church, Valdosta, Ga., for 15 years. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Jeannie have three children: Emily, John and Caroline.
