Connie Maxwell Children’s Home recently honored volunteers during its annual recognition dinner.
Polly Davis, director of volunteer services at Connie Maxwell, recognized 140 attendees for the more than 9,000 hours of volunteer service given by approximately 1,400 people during the past year.
Mack Baltzegar of Greenwood was given the Volunteer of the Year award.
“Mack has been actively involved on the Connie Maxwell campus with his efforts to catalogue and preserve artifacts and memorabilia from our heritage,” said Davis. Baltzegar is an alumnus of Connie Maxwell and is an accomplished artist whose work is displayed throughout the campus buildings.
The Lander University Baptist Campus Ministries group received the College Volunteer Group of the Year award. Christin Monk and Alex Smith received the award for Lander BCM.
New Prospect Baptist Church of Inman earned the Church Youth Volunteers of the Year award, and Betty and Jim Cumbee of Greenwood were given the Resident Volunteers of the Year award.
