Let’s move forward

The Baptist Courier

In response to Barry Wilson, “Not All Bad News,” and his statement concerning “the damage done to the SBC by the conservative resurgence of the ’80s,” I would like to make the following suggestion:

I would like to encourage my friend to visit North Greenville, Anderson and Charleston Southern universities and observe the difference in our institutions now in comparison to the disasters that were taking place in the ’80s before the conservative resurgence.

Have we forgotten when North Greenville was about to close its doors from lack of attendance? Do we not remember when our institutions were struggling with financial problems and the divisions between our convention and institutions?

It is so exciting today to visit North Greenville, Charleston Southern and Anderson and see them exploding with excitement and numerical growth! God is blessing in such a way that he only can receive glory! Praise the Lord that Jesus Christ is first and that our young people are motivated by the word of God. The Lord himself has placed men and women in all of our institutions who are leading our young people in such a way that God is being glorified.

As a trustee at Anderson University, I am so excited about what God is doing there! What is the major problem we are facing today? Space! More and more students want to come to Anderson University as well as our other universities. Think about it. There is a need for more space! Thank God for the conservative resurgence! Praise the Lord!

Let’s get on, get off or get run over! With God’s continued help, we’re going forward in Jesus’ name!
