A new book about the far-reaching influence of Camp McCall was released as part of the camp’s 50th anniversary celebration.

“McCall: A Camp to Match His Mountains” was written by Nathan “Pavlovk” Crum. The author, now a history teacher at Dorman High School in Spartanburg, was a camper at McCall for 12 years and worked on staff for 10 years.
The 319-page book is an excellent mix of history, relationships and memories.
In the book, Crum says, “If you were to take all the campers who have come through the gates of McCall and line them up side by side with outstretched arms, you could form a circle around the entire perimeter of South Carolina and still have some overlap.”
The book’s first printing is nearly sold out already. Inquire about copies at CampMcCall@yahoo.com
