GREG DOVER, associate pastor of Earle Street Baptist Church in Greenville since June, was ordained to the ministry on July 19 by his home church, First Baptist in Greenville. Participants in the ordination included Stephen Clyborne, pastor at Earle Street; Michelle McClendon, minister of Christian education at First Baptist; Diane Lipsett, assistant professor of New Testament at Wake Forest Divinity School, from which the candidate graduated; Greg Crowe, deacon chairman at First Baptist; and the candidate’s wife Suzy, an English teacher at Pickens High School.

 

 

 

 

LARRY SHULL was called as pastor of Ravenwood Baptist Church, Columbia, on July 8. He had been serving at Ravenwood since June 2008. Shull earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master of divinity in religious education degree from Southeastern Baptist Seminary. He previously served churches in Fayetteville, N.C., and in Lake City and North in South Carolina. He and his wife Brenda have two children and three grandchildren.

 

 

Kenneth Garvin

KENNETH GARVIN began duties June 1 as pastor of First Baptist Church, Langley. He and his wife Robin came to First Baptist from Sweetwater Baptist Church, Thompson, Ga., where he served as pastor for 11 years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tyler Smith

TYLER SMITH has joined the staff of Alice Drive Baptist Church, Sumter, as associate pastor for technical ministries. A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., he is a recent graduate of Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla.
