Charleston Southern University will host the Lifeway Connect Conference Thursday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Aug. 28.
Ed Stetzer, president and missiologist at LifeWay Research, and Thom Rainer, CEO of Lifeway Christian Resources, will highlight the two-day conference. Sam Rainer, Jason Hayes and Tim Miller are also scheduled to speak during the conference.
According to the event’s Web page, the Connect Conference is designed to educate pastors and church leaders about strategies to connect with a large 20-and 30- something young-adult audience who, according to Connect, “- want to make a difference in the world. They’re looking for mentors. They’re searching for community, a place to connect.”
Stetzer has planted churches, transitioned declining churches, trained pastors and church planters on five continents and taught at more than 15 seminaries. He holds two master’s degrees and two doctorates and has written dozens of articles and books, including co-authoring “Lost and Found: The Younger Unchurched and the Churches that Reach Them.”
Rainer is responsible for leadership of the Southern Baptist Convention’s education, church programs and publishing agency. He has consulted with hundreds of churches and spoken in hundreds of venues worldwide. Among his publications are articles and 20 books, including co-authoring “Essential Church.”
